The Vanløse Fire: Group Security Secures the Area After the Catastrophe
On March 25, 2022, Vanløse was struck by a devastating fire that destroyed a large residential complex on Grøndals Parkvej. The fire spread quickly and affected all 16 stairwells, resulting in 90 families losing their homes. In total, 130 apartments were damaged, and the building ultimately had to be demolished.
After the fire department extinguished the flames and the police investigators completed their examination of the site, Group Security took over responsibility for securing the fire-damaged property. Strict access restrictions were put in place to prevent unauthorized entry into the dangerous area with unstable building structures. Through 24/7 manned guards, patrols, and surveillance, Group Security ensured that the site remained safe and protected against vandalism and theft.
As the cleanup progressed, Group Security’s role expanded to include security for the upcoming construction site. Comprehensive safety measures were implemented to protect workers and the public from the risk of collapse.
The Vanløse fire was a tragic event, but thanks to the coordinated efforts of the emergency services, police, and Group Security, the area could be secured, and reconstruction could begin under safe conditions.
The Børsen Fire: A Tragedy for Danish Cultural Heritage
On April 16, 2024, Denmark witnessed a tragic fire that destroyed one of the nation’s most iconic buildings – the historic Børsen in Copenhagen. Built in the 1620s under King Christian IV, the building had for centuries stood as a symbol of Danish commerce and architectural greatness. The flames ravaged much of the structure, and one of the most painful losses was the collapse of the iconic dragon spire in the heat of the fire.
After days of intense firefighting and cleanup, the police concluded their investigation of the fire site on April 25, 2024. Group Security then took over responsibility for securing the premises and preventing unauthorized access. With 24/7 surveillance, patrols, and access control, our security teams ensured the site remained safe throughout the subsequent cleanup and reconstruction phase.
Group Security’s role expanded from securing the fire site to overseeing safety at the reconstruction site. Comprehensive safety measures were implemented to protect workers, materials, and the remaining historic structures that could be preserved.
The fire left a deep wound in Danish cultural heritage, but efforts to rebuild Børsen are already underway – with a strong focus on restoring the proud history the building has carried for more than 400 years.

Burglary and Alarm Installation
Unfortunately, burglary is a common crime that can cause great distress for victims. While we support our clients in Denmark and abroad with preventive measures to reduce the risk of such crimes, we also provide our services when a critical situation has already occurred.
One client contacted us for assistance in arranging a complete alarm system for their family’s holiday home abroad.
The family had previously been subjected to an armed burglary while at home. The break-in was violent, and one family member was assaulted. This deeply affected the family, who no longer felt safe in their home given the current security situation. We immediately decided to help and assigned a dedicated team to the case.
Within a few days, we installed a new security system in the residence, including cameras, reinforced windows, and an advanced alarm system.
We walked the family through the new system and explained how everything functioned. We also arranged a visit from local security authorities, who were informed of the situation.
Additionally, we conducted training sessions with family members, ensuring they knew how to respond should a similar incident occur again.
The family was also assigned a dedicated contact person, always available for questions or concerns.
With the new security measures in place, the family could once again feel safe in their holiday home.
